Weight Watchers SmartPoints® Are Being Updated! You can also calculate foods yourself using our new and updated calculator!

There are only a few more restaurants that need to be updated. We are in the process of completing these as well as all of the restaurant updates which have been emailed to us in the past year. You can see the status Here. Please be patient as we finish up! Thanks, JDN Staff.

Why I decided to go Natural…

Peanut Butter that is and for that matter Jelly too! A few weeks ago I went on Instagram and looked up the hashtag weightwatchers for some recipe/snack ideas. One of the people I started to follow was obviously a peanut butter fanatic like I am. Whenever they spoke of peanut butter they referenced “natural” peanut butter. I wondered what all the fuss was so the next time I went to the grocery store I picked up a jar. I came home and tried it only to find the taste was not exactly like my reduced fat peanut butter that I used all the time. Well I opened it right so I guess I will suck it up, then I thought well, wait, how many points does this actually work out to be? To my surprise my new “natural” PB was the same amount of point as my reduced fat PB. I was not happy and mad that I even bought it without looking at the points. I figured it would just be something else that sat in my closet but as the days went on I would every so often take a teaspoonful of it as a snack and it was really starting to grow on me. It wasn’t until I was putting reduced fat peanut butter in my dogs treat bone (they get it as a treat when we leave the house) that for some reason I looked at the ingredients and pulled out the “natural” PB to compare. Why I hadn’t done this before I don’t know but I was surprised by the difference in ingredients that I have now decided that I will from this day forward use natural PB! As far as the Jelly goes, I bought the “spreadable” jelly, not even realizing I bought natural once I again until I took it out to put on my sandwich I was again happy to see not so many ingredients (no high-fructose corn syrup).

Why am I sharing this you might wonder? Well throughout my time on WW I have learned that it’s not just a diet we are on. It’s a change in lifestyle, and I know you’ve all probably heard this at your meetings but it’s true. We are re-learning how to eat, what portions we should be using and that we should try to “Clean” eat as much as possible. Peanut butter is just one small step but just think what you might be able to do with the other items you eat on a daily basis!
