Why I decided to lose weight

I decided that I really needed to lose weight when I overheard a Football announcer on television exclaimed, "He is a big guy Mark, he is 254 and 6' 3", yeah, he is a big guy" I was stunned! I weighed 10 more pounds then this big ol Football player. I just couldn't get that out of my mind. I thought about the gift of good genes that I was given, no heart disease and no diabities, etc and I was taking a risk with my health by not eating good, healthy food. I started two and a half years ago to eat healthier. I wasn't super strict because I know that is just asking for trouble. I ate healthy at least 75% of the time. I also started exercising. I purchased a Wii and a Wii Fit Plus and worked out four times a week for up to an hour a day. I heard a skit on Saturday Night Live that basically said the only way to lose weight was to "Move more and eat less" no fancy pills, no special food combinations, etc. just "Move more and eat less" I told people that was the name of my new diet. I started dropping weight. It has been a slow process but so was gaining it. I have lost 84 pounds so far and have a few more to go. I feel so much better. I have not been dieting, per say but I have made some healthier eating choices. Our body likes it once we get used to it and starts to crave healthy foods and doesn't accept the junk foods as easily as it once did. Mine tends to rebel and I actually get Junk Food headaches. Overeating is an addiction but it isn't one we can totally stay away from like someone who smokes. We gotta eat!

I am 50 years old and have lost about 84 pounds over a two and a half year period. I want to lose about twenty more.
